Entity

An entity is a single thing or concept that exists in the world. In Freebase terms, each entity is represented by a Topic node in the graph, and has a unique Id.

Examples of entities:

• Olivia Newton-John
• Battle of Trafalgar
• the colour Blue

Things which are not entities:

• things expressed by adjectives or verbs, eg. "funny" or "speak"
• disparate groups or collections, eg. "people with blue eyes"
• higher-order ideas about things, eg. "history of Cambodia"
